| Charles (Charlie) W. Braznell, originally a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, founded Wesley Construction Company in 1960. His family was active in Coal Development and gradually became involved with Hotel and Apartment Development in Miami Beach, Florida by 1926. Wesley Construction Company was incorporated in Coral Gables, Florida and eventually expanded to include branch offices in Champaign, Illinois and New Orleans, Louisiana. Institutional and Commercial construction were the company's primary focus, completing over $100M of varied construction of Medical, Industrial, Commercial & Military facilities before scaling back operations in the late 1960's. The 1970's brought change as the Company privately developed several multi-family projects in South Florida, eventually returning to Institutional and Commercial activity to focus within the medical and healthcare markets. Although successful with public work, Wesley Construction Company's primary focus remained with private clients. Charlie retired in 2000, along with Vice President Oscar E. Prieto, after four decades in South Florida Construction. Charlie's daughter-in-law, Gina Rae, along with his daughters Carolyn and Suzanne currently maintain the corporation, performing activities on a limited basis. |
